Basketball season is officially here as the women's team kicks off the regular season on the road against Wesleyan College this weekend.

The Bruins enter the new year returning a core group of players with the addition of one freshman to the roster. The Bruins played a scrimmage against Spartanburg Methodist College a few weeks ago, but open their season in Macon, Georgia on Saturday.

Wesleyan College has two games under their belt and is 1-1 on the year. The Wolves lost their season opener to the University of Toccoa Falls 63-60 before picking up a 70-67 win over Trinity College of Jacksonville on Thursday.

The Bruins and Wolves have met six times in program history, with their last meeting recorded on December 2, 2024. In all six meetings, the Bruins have pulled away with a win.

Saturday's game will be a good test for the women's basketball team as they look to start the 2026-27 season out strong.
