Trevor Pittman Named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week

After three great performances and two straight career highs in points, Trevor Pittman was named the NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week.

Last week, the Bruins went 3-0 and much of that was due to the tear that Pittman has been on. To begin the week on Monday, Pittman scored 17 points in the win over Johnson & Wales University. His 10 first-half points kept the Bruins close going into halftime after the Wildcats came out firing.

To follow that performance, Pittman set his first career high of the week with 26 points in the double-overtime win against Baptist University of Florida. On top of those points, he tallied 10 assists in the game as well.

Pittman stayed hot as he closed the week with another career high performance of 33 points in the Bruins win against Warren Wilson College to close the regular season. He knocked down seven three-pointers in that performance.

Across the week, Trevor Pittman averaged 25 points and 4.5 assists. A stat that needs to be mentioned is his protection of the basketball as he had zero turnovers in two of the three games.

Pittman and the Bruins now look ahead as they are the top seed going into the NCCAA DII South Region Tournament this coming weekend.
