Several Women's Basketball Players Earn All-Region Recognition


Several Bob Jones University women's basketball players received awards at the NCCAA South Region awards banquet in Toccoa Falls, Georgia,

Three Bob Jones University women's basketball players were given All-Region recognition by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for their work on the court this season.

Sophomore Keely Price was awarded a sport on the All-Region First Team for the second time in her career. Price has been a key piece ot the Bruins team this season leading the team with 13.8 points per game and 9.2 rebounds each contest. At the beginning of February, Price had a season-high 28 points against region opponent Toccoa Falls College. 

Anna Layne Wylder and Jenna Brooks were both given All-Region Second Team recognition.

Wylder leads the team from the three-point line with 58 baskets from the arc so far, putting her fourth in the nation in made three-pointers. Wylder averages 12 points per game with her biggest game coming against Clinton College on January 29 where she contributed 20 points. This is the third time in Wylder's career that she has received this honor.

Junior Jennna Brooks is third on the team in points made as she averages 8.9 per game. She sits behind Price in rebounds with 126 so far this season. Early in the season, Brooks dropped 23 points in the win against Columbia International University. This is the first time Brooks has earned a spot on the All-Region team. 

Also receiving region votes and an honorable mention nod was Faith Hayward put together 150 points and 87 assists this season. 

Freshman Savannah Taylor was added to the All-Freshman team this season. Through 13 games played, she has scored 80 points and totaled 47 rebounds. 

The Bruins begin their post-season on Friday morning as they take on #2 Trinity College of Jacksonville at the NCCAA South Region Tournament in Toccoa Falls, Georgia with hopes of returning to the championship contest on Saturday.
