The Bob Jones University Athletics Department has announced the hiring of Anthony Bennett as the next interim head coach of the Bruins volleyball program.

A native of the Upstate of South Carolina, Bennett is a graduate of Clemson University and joins the Bruins after coaching with Excell Sports Volleyball.

His playing career included time on Clemson University's men's club volleyball team as well as an official practice player with the women's collegiate program.

"I am delighted for the opportunity to serve as the next women's volleyball coach at BJU and to join an athletic department that prioritizes using sport to bring glory to God," said Bennett.

Bennett's vision for the program is to see the team compete at a high level each day with humility, integrity, and servant-mindedness.

"I'm excited to get in the gym and start building towards a successful season! I'm grateful that the Lord has placed me in this position and know that He has a plan for this program and university! Go Bruins!"

He is strongly aligned with the vision and mission of our Bruins athletic program and is uniquely gifted to lead the Bruins volleyball team.  I believe the future is bright for Bruins volleyball under Coach Bennett's leadership. His experiences in working with an NCAA Division I volleyball program and working as a head coach with a club team have well-prepared him for this opportunity. His perspective on ministering through sport, his pursuit of excellence in preparation for competition, and his passion for serving others will be a blessing."
