Box Score
The Lady Bruins suffered their second straight loss of the 2014-15 season as they fell 66-51 to the Columbia College Fighting Koalas. "We had a great effort tonight," Coach Mike LeViere said. "I felt we outplayed them for most of the game but we couldn't reward ourselves by converting at the offensive end."

The Bruins were coming off a 79-53 loss to Reinhardt University on Thursday night. The team split the season series with Columbia College in the 2013-14 season.

In the opening minutes, the Fighting Koalas used poise and possession to jump out to an early 10-2 lead. The Bruins were able to find open looks, but the shots would not fall. After a basket by Taylor Smith, the Bruins found themselves trailing 21-8. BJU was able to fight back at the late stages of the half, but went into the locker room trailing 33-24.

"We weren't able to take advantage of our opportunities," Coach LeViere said. "We struggled in rebounding shooting and free throws."

In the second half, the Bruins shooting went from bad to worse as the team was not able to convert in the offensive end. The team shot 27% from the floor throughout the night, and struggled to keep possession with 21 turnovers. The Bruins trailed by as much as 21 in the second half, but the team never gave up and continued to try to battle their way back into the game.

The final buzzer handed the Bruins a 66-51 loss. Maggi Ford led the way for the Bruins with 19 points and Brianna Delaney added 10. The team lost the rebounding margin by a lopsided 61-36 result.

Next up, the Bruins will be on the road again as they travel to Toccoa Falls College on Tuesday night.
