The Bruins came into the game with a 5-6 record as they had dropped back to back games. The Eagles opened the season with a victory, but had since been in the midst of a five-game losing streak as both teams took the court in front of the hometown fans of the Davis Field House.

The Eagles came out and scored the first five points of the game, but Hannah Tompkins knocked down back to back three's to power the Bruins to a 12-2 run to regain the lead. The Eagles came charging back and eventually re-took the lead off a Kayla Thomas three-point shot 15-14. From there, the Bruins used suffocating defense and goof transition play to close out the first quarter on a 17-2 run to go up 31-17 at the end of the quarter.

In the second quarter, the Bruins kept up the stellar pressure defense and continued to force the Eagles into turnovers and tough shots. Meanwhile offensively, the team got a boost from Sha'Ron Brunson and Kendra Jeffcott as the Bruins continued to extend their lead. From the midway point of the first quarter to the end of the 2nd quarter, the Bruins outscored the Eagles 46-9 to take a comfortable 62-28 lead into the break.

"We had several players who had really good games," Coach Mike LeViere said. "It took us a little bit to get in rhythm but we did a lot of good things tonight. Our inside out game was working well and we played good defense which fed the offense."

In the second half, the Bruins came out strong again and continued to control the pace and flow of the game. With the lopsided score, Coach LeViere turned to his bench and the team continued to have great play as Sarah Thomsen came off the bench with 12 points as the Bruins continued to control heading into the fourth quarter with an 80-41 lead.

As the final quarter began, the Bruins continued to force tough looks for the Eagles, but Toccoa Falls refused to quit and knocked down several shots to cut into the lead. As the final buzzer sounded, the Bruins had pieced together a team effort to come away with a big 90-58 victory over Toccoa Falls College.

"I'm pretty happy overall," Coach LeViere said. "We had players build some confidence off of this game which will help us in future games. We had some really good things we can take away from this and we need to continue to work hard and play good defense going forward."

Sha'Ron Brunson and Hannah Tompkins each led the Bruins with 15 points while Kendra Jeffcott had 12 to go along with 5 rebounds. Sarah Thomsen had 12 in her highest scoring output of the season for the team. The Bruins shot an impressive 48% from the field and nearly 40% from three-point range as the team improves to 6-6 on the season. Next up, the Bruins will play the first of back-to-back conference road games as they battle Southern Wesleyan University on Thursday night in Central, South Carolina.
