Box Score Kendra Jeffcott helped to fuel a high-powered Bruins' offense with 13 points and 15 rebounds as the Lady Bruins defeated Warren Wilson College 77-39 on Tuesday night. Four different Bruins scored in double figures as the team bounced back big in Asheville, North Carolina.
"We had a really good team effort tonight," Coach Mike LeViere said. "This was as good of an offensive outing as we have had. We were tough to guard tonight and shot the ball well."
The Bruins came into the game on Tuesday night on the tail end of back to back losses. The team had won six straight games previous to that and stood at 15-13 on the season. A win would ensure a winning record for the 2014-15 season. The Owls of WWC came into the game with a 12-15 record having lost 3 of their last 4 games. The two teams met earlier this season in Greenville with the Bruins coming away with a 69-52 victory. On Tuesday, the Bruins were looking to play the role of spoiler as Warren Wilson College celebrated senior night for their last home game of the season.

in the 77-39 victory over Warren Wilson CollegeThe Bruins came out of the gate hot behind impressive shooting as the team shot 64% from the field throughout the first half. Kendra Jeffcott was able to work through the defensive lanes for high percentage shots and Maggi Ford was able to knock down shots from the outside as the team continued to build their lead. They also dominated the glass by securing rebounds and working the ball out in transition. As the half ended, the Lady Bruins took a comfortable 44-15 lead into the break.
"We picked a good time to shoot well and play well," Coach LeViere said. "To shoot the way we did on the road tonight was definitely a team effort. Whomever was open tonight seemed to be knocking the open shot down. We also were big in the rebounding which helped us throughout the game."
In the second half, the Bruins came out strong and quickly put the game out of reach as the team continued to play suffocating defense and work through their offensive sets for points. The Owls tried to mount one last charge, but their efforts fell short as the Bruins coasted to a 77-39 victory.
"Every player was productive for us tonight," Coach LeViere said. "It wasn't perfect, but we played really well tonight. Now we'll get ready for senior night and the regional tournament after that."
Maggi Ford led the scoring column for the Bruins with 17 points. Kendra Jeffcott added another double-double to her stat line for the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Abby Conover had 11 points and Hannah Tompkins chipped in 10. The Bruins owned the rebounding margin 58-28 while forcing WWC to shoot just 26% from the field throughout the game.
Next up, the Bruins will play their last game of the regular season at home on Saturday night as the team welcomes Southern Wesleyan University.
