Moritsch Claims Top Spot as Shooting Sports Teams Compete in Charleston GSSF Match

The Bob Jones University Bruins Shooting Sports teams competed well on Saturday in the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation (GSSF) match in Charleston, South Carolina. Several Bruins players turned in top performances in the event with several placing in the top five.

"Having had the experience of a Glock match a few weeks ago, our students were more prepared for this match and their scores proved it" Bruins Head Coach Dan Seibert said. "I am very proud of how each student has eagerly learned and applied the techniques they have been taught. Most of our student athletes were able to lower their score significantly."

Senior Tyler Moritsch had an impressive day as he placed 1st overall in the civilian category (our of 92 participants), 2nd in Unlimited, and 7th in Competition categories. Fellow senior Nathanael Seibert placed 4th in Unlimited and 5th in the Masterstock category.

Several other players earned top-20 honors as Jonathan Urwin placed 15th in Masterstock and Alexis Canen placed 22nd in Masterstock. The Bruins team of Moritsch, Simon Wilkie, and Tyler Bradley captured 1st in the Civilian category.

Overall, it was another strong performance for the teams in just their second event of the fall season. Next up, the Bruins will compete in a Trap Qualifier Match on October 26 in Edgefield, South Carolina.
