Moritsch Places in Top-Ten in Three Different Categories as Shooting Sports Teams Compete in GSSF Match

While the snow was falling in Greenville on Saturday, the Bruins shooting sports teams were enjoying sunny weather as the team competed in the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation (GSSF) match in Charleston, South Carolina.

Tyler Moritsch had a strong showing for the men's team as the senior placed 2nd in the Unlimited category, 5th in Masterstock and 6th in Competition. Junior Brandon Jackson also had a strong showing for the team placing 20th and 21st in the Civilian and Masterstock events while sophomore Simon Wilkie finished 21st and 25th in those categories.

From the women's team, Alexis Canen led the way for the Bruins placing 23rd in Masterstock, 30th in Civilian and 38th in Competition. Overall, each player improved from competitions last semester, some by as much as 50% in their speed and accuracy.

"We shot very well as a group," Bruins Head Coach Dan Seibert said. "I'm very proud of the good testimony our team had, and I am also proud of the way they are improving their skills as they continue dot work hard to improve."

Next up, the Bruins will compete in a shotgun event on Saturday, February 15, in a five stand match in Belton, South Carolina.
