The Bruins shooting sports team competed in their first shotgun event in program history on Saturday with two players finishing in the top-five of the event in Edgefield, South Carolina.
Freshman Logan Hilton led the way for the Bruins finishing third overall in the event while junior Steven Cross placed 4th in the competition. Ryan Wright rounded out the field for the Bruins as the freshman finished 6th overall.
"This first competition for the shotgun team went very well," Bruins Head Coach Dan Seibert said. "I was very impressed at how well our guys did after having only a couple of weeks of training. It is a great testimony to their effort and practice, as well as the expertise of assistant coach, Rod Mueller. I am excited about the future of our shotgun program."
The Bruins are competing in their fifth season of intercollegiate competition. This season is the first that the program has expanded to include several shotgun specific events over the course of the season.
Next up, the Bruins will compete in a W.A.R. match in Honea Path, South Carolina, on November 9.
