The Bruins shooting sports teams competed in their final match of the 2019 fall season on Saturday in Honea Path, South Carolina. Tyler Moritsch again led the way for the Bruins with an 8th place finish in the open category out of thirty-eight participants.
The Wounded and Recovering (WAR) match is also a fundraiser to help law enforcement offers who have been wounded in the line of duty. This match is different from other events the team competes in due to the falling steel course where participants move around the course in nine stages.
"Half of our team had never shot in a match like this so it was a new experience for them and an enjoyable one," Bruins Head Coach Dan Seibert said. "I'm proud of their performance and proud of their testimony before and interaction with others at the match."
Nathanael Seibert also had a strong day for the Bruins as the senior captain finished 11th overall in the open category. Elsewhere, Simon Wilkie finished 41st out of 146 participants in the limited category while John Morrisset and Connor LeViere placed 76th and 85th in the same category.
The Bruins wrap up the fall season and will look ahead to several events in the spring, including the SASP Nationals as the Bruins look to contend for their second national championship in program history.
