Baseball Team Strengthens Roster with Addition of New Recruits

Looking forward to next semester, the Bob Jones University baseball team is excited to welcome eight recruits to the roster ahead of the 2023 season. These student-athletes join a solid team of returning players as the baseball team begins their third season of competition in February. 

"This year's class of recruits is a very enthusiastic group," said Head Coach Brent Casteel. "They bring a lot of energy and seem to have a good work ethic. We also have a great roster of veterans returning with strength and experience. I'm looking forward to watching this group mold together to build a strong culture."

With many players returning, this talented recruit class joins a solid group of players for the baseball team as the squad looks to add to last season's successes. The following are the 2023 recruits joining the baseball program this year.

Danny Palmer (Dacula, GA)
Danny Palmer joins the Bruins as a transfer from Young Harris College in Georgia. During preseason last year, Palmer threw a perfect game which helped lead him to earning All-American Honorable Mention. He is continuing is education in Kinesiology. 

Cody Kirkpatrick (Weaverville, NC)
Cody Kirkpatrick joins the baseball team after transferring from UVA Wise. Following his senior year in high school, Kirkpatrick earned All-Conference honors. He is getting his degree in Kinesiology. 

Kamden Lance (Fletcher, NC)
The North Carolina native comes to the Bruins after finishing his senior season with a .341 batting average and leading his team with doubles. Lance also earned All-Conference Honorable Mention that year. He is studying Business Administration while at BJU.

Kyle Prouse (Pace, FL)
Joining the Bruins this year from Pace, Florida is Kyle Prouse. During his high school career, he earned a spot on the Pensacola Christian Conference (PCC) All-Conference team as well as being named the PCC Regional MVP and PCC Conference MVP. Prouse led his team in batting average, on base percentage, stolen bases and had the lowest earned run average as a pitcher. Prouse is earning a degree in Ministry and Leadership.

Cam Rossiter (McDonough, GA)
Cam Rossiter comes to Bob Jones University from McDonough, Georgia with a career batting average of .363. Rossiter is getting his degree in Sport Management. 

Gabriel Swarms (Robbins, NC)
During his high school career, Gabriel Swarms threw a no-hitter. He earned a spot on the All-Conference team and was a member of the Golden Spikes showcase team. While at BJU, Swarms is studying Kinesiology. 

Jeremiah Parker (Winterville, NC)
Jeremiah Parker finished his senior year with a 0.98 ERA. In addition he threw 111 strikes through 57 innings pitched earning a spot on the NCCSA All-State team. The freshman is getting his degree in Biblical Studies. 

Cole Fazio (Snohomish, WA)
Joining the Bruins from the state of Washington, Cole Fazio is studying Biblical Studies. In high school, he was named the League MVP and made the All-State team two times. During his high school career he recorded 27 homeruns. 

The Bruins begin their season on the road on February 10 at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in North Carolina before coming home to Conestee Park for their home opener on February 21. The full 2023 schedule can be found here
