After falling to Maryville College at the end of March, the Bruins will have a shot at redemption as the baseball team is back at Conestee Park for some Tuesday afternoon action against the Scots.
Over the weekend, the Bruins won their first home series taking two of their three games against Paine College. On Friday, the Bruins and Lions went into extra innings to determine a winner where the Bruins came away with the victory in the bottom of the 10th inning in a 5-4 decision. After going down by four runs in game one of their Saturday doubleheader, Bob Jones had a high-scoring sixth inning that saw eight runs scored and back-to-back home runs. The Bruins were able to hold on to their lead to finish the game 8-4. In game two on Saturday, the Bruins weren't able to hold off the Lions as Paine College came away with the win.
Coming into Tuesday's game, the Bruins sit at 5-20 on the season with a 4-11 record at home.
Maryville College is on a four-game win streak as the Scots enter this game 20-8 on the season after sweeping Berea College in three games on Saturday and Sunday. This will be the second meeting between the two schools. During their first meeting on March 29, Daniel Barcena singled to send Conley Burk across home plate in the first inning, but the Bruins weren't able to produce any more scoring opportunities as they fell 11-1.
Tuesday's game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. from Conestee Park in Greenville, South Carolina.
