The baseball team will make the drive to Lookout Mountain, Georgia as they prepare to take on Covenant College in a three-game series this weekend.
Bob Jones and Covenant College met earlier this season at Conestee Park where the Bruins dropped game one of their March 11 doubleheader but fought back and scored five runs in the fifth inning to win 5-4 over the Scots. Due to weather, their third game of the series was canceled the next day.
The Bruins come into the weekend 7-24 on the season after falling in both games on Tuesday to Truett McConnell University. The team had 17 hits on the day, but according to Coach Casteel the team couldn't get the timing right to produce any runs. With just seven games remaining in the season, the Bruins are looking to come out strong and get back in the win column.
Last weekend the Scots took on Maryville College and went 2-3 in their weekend series. Covenant College comes into Friday and Saturday's games 15-17 on the season.
Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader will start at noon from Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
