It's a battle of the Bruins as Bob Jones University travels to Mocksville, North Carolina to face the Carolina University Bruins Thursday afternoon followed by a doubleheader on Friday.
The Bruins come into the series with a 2-3 record and looking to get back to their winning ways. On Tuesday, the Bruins fell in a 5-3 decision to St. Andrews University at their home opener at Conestee Park.
Carolina University enters Thursday and Friday's games on the heels on a doubleheader loss at home to the University of Virginia-Wise. In the loss, the CU Bruins gave up 32 runs through 14 innings on Tuesday. Their last win came against Mid-Atlantic Christian University, a team BJU beat twice this season, on Sunday in a 13-6 result.
The two Bruins programs have met 10 times through the past two years with Carolina University sweeping the series. In their last meeting, BJU fell in a 20-4 decision in the opening contest of the NCCAA South Regional tournament in May of 2022. BJU looks to bounce back and grab their first win against CU this week.
Game one of the series will be played Thursday at 4 p.m. followed by doubleheader beginning at noon on Friday. The battle of the Bruins will be played at Mando Field at Rich Park and fans can follow along with the action
