The Bob Jones University Bruins beach volleyball team fell in both of their Friday duals in day one of their weekend tournament in Cleveland, Georgia. The Bruins fell 5-0 to the University of Mobile to open the day before dropping a 4-1 decision to William Carey University Friday afternoon. With today's results the Bruins sit at 0-6 on the season.
"We knew it would be another challenging day on the sand playing all NAIA teams," said Head Coach Vickie Denny. "Overall there was much improvement from last week and several pairs saw better play as a result. We are a young program and the players are working hard and learning the beach game that is so different than indoors. We have been working on mixing up our shots and creating more offensive options, and we did that better today."
The Bruins began the weekend tournament with a noon dual against the University of Mobile. This marked the first meeting between the two teams. The Rams came into today's dual 5-10 on the season. While the University of Mobile finished ahead with the 5-0 win, the Bruins stayed in the contest and saw several close sets.Â
