The beach volleyball team goes on the road this weekend to open their second season at the St. Andrews University tournament in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
The Bruins open the weekend against a familiar opponent, St. Andrews University, Friday morning. The two schools met twice last season with Bob Jones finishing with the 3-2 victory in their first dual before the Knights came away with the slight victory the next day. St. Andrews comes into the tournament 3-8 on the season after falling in three matches last Friday and Saturday.
On Friday afternoon, the Bruins are back on the sand to face an undefeated Carson-Newman University. The Eagles come into the weekend boasting an 11-0 record and have recorded seven 5-0 wins through the start of their season. The two teams will meet twice this weekend with their first ever match coming on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by another meeting Saturday at 1 p.m.
To get Saturday's session underway, the Bruins will take on the University of Lynchburg at 11 a.m. The Hornets enter the weekend with a 3-5 season record after splitting last weekend's tournament against LaGrange and Huntingdon.
After three preseason matches in February, the Bruins are ready to start the regular season. Games begin at 10 a.m. on Friday in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
