The Bruins baseball team will make their Fluor Field debut March 7 as they take on Montreat College in a Tuesday doubleheader from the home of the Greenville Drive in downtown Greenville, South Carolina.
The Bruins look to get back in the win column after dropping both games on Saturday to Maryville College. On Saturday, the Bruins had strong pitching in game one, but errors throughout the game didn't allow them to catch up after the Scots took an early lead. The Bruins were shutout in game two after facing some solid pitching from the Scots. BJU enters the week 2-9 on the season.
Over the weekend, Montreat College improved to 9-10 on the season after sweeping Johnson University (TN) on Saturday and Sunday. The Cavaliers outscored Johnson 35-1 throughout the weekend series. Montreat College opens their week with a home game against Lourdes University Monday afternoon. The Cavaliers won't get much of a break before they are back on the field for two games on Tuesday to close out six games in four days.
Montreat College played Bob Jones University twice back in 2021 as the Bruins welcomed them to Contestee Park for their inaugural home games where the Cavaliers took home both wins.
First pitch for Tuesday's doubleheader is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. with gates opening one hour before. Tickets to Tuesday's game are just $10 and can be purchased
