The Bob Jones University beach volleyball team is looking for their first win of the 2023 season as they travel to Cleveland, Georgia for a weekend tournament hosted by Truett McConnell University.
In their opening tournament last weekend, the Bruins faced some competitive teams. Despite putting forth a solid effort, the Bruins fell short with only one pair winning their match through four duals played.
Bob Jones opens this weekend in a dual against the University of Mobile. Friday will be the first meeting between the two programs as the Rams enter the tournament 5-10 on the season.
Friday afternoon, the Bruins will take on William Carey University for the first time at 3 p.m. The Crusaders had a four game winning streak snapped with back to back losses on February 26 as they come into the weekend with a 4-5 season record.
It will be an early start for Bob Jones as they face their third brand new opponent of the week, Loyola University: La. The Wolf Pack ended a fourth game losing slide with a 5-0 victory against LaGrange College last weekend to sit at 4-8 on the season.
The final dual of the weekend for the Bruins will come against Truett McConnell University. Truett McConnell enters tournament with 14 games under their belt as they sit at 6-8 on the season. The Bruins and Bears met three times last season with Truett McConnell pulling out the win in all three meetings.
