Bruins baseball is gearing up for another busy couple days. Saturday, the Bruins are set to host their first home games of the season against Concordia University of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Bruins and Cardinals will play a doubleheader on Saturday and will close out their three-game series with a single nine inning game Monday afternoon.

Concordia University is part of the NAIA and competes in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). They begin their baseball season this Friday against Miami-Hamilton in a doubleheader before making their way to Greenville. The Cardinals and Bruins are making their first appearances against one another.

The Cardinals finished last season with a 48-10 record and went 26-5 in conference play. They bring in a recruit class of 10 freshman this year to add to an already well seasoned team of juniors and seniors. This will be the tenth season for the Cardinals Head Coach, Zach Johnston. He holds a winning record of 310-170 since he began his tenure in 2015.

The Bruins are coming into this series with an 0-3 start after losing to Mid-Atlantic Christian University over the weekend. The Bruins were competitive in each game losing 11-9 on Friday, 7-5 in game 1 of a doubleheader and then 11-10 through 11 innings in game two. Through those three games, the Bruins produced 35 hits with five home runs interspersed and scored 24 runs.

The Bruins will play a three-game series against Concordia University starting with a doubleheader on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. They will close the series on Monday at 12:00 p.m. with all three games being played at Conestee Park in Greenville, SC.
