Series Preview: BJU vs Toccoa Falls College

Schedule Update: Friday's doubleheader at Toccoa Falls College has been postponed due to rain.

After a shortened spring break for the baseball team, the Bruins will head to Toccoa Falls College for a doubleheader this Friday, March 22. This is the first meeting of the season for these two NCCAA programs as they are scheduled to face off against each other two more times before the end of the season. This Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch from Toccoa Falls, Georgia.

The Screaming Eagles are on a bit of a hot streak as they've won their last seven straight games to improve their overall record to 13-8. Over this past weekend, March 15-16, they swept Paine College by the scores 16-14, 8-6, and 14-3. In their game prior to their series with Paine, they went 13 innings with Columbia International University before coming away with a 21-20 victory. With key wins over the past several weeks, the Screaming Eagles currently sit ranked number nine in the NCCAA Coaches Poll.

In an attempt to not get completely rained out over the weekend, the Bruins made their way to North Cobb Christian School to get a doubleheader in with Covenant College this past Saturday. Henry Wallach pitched a strong six innings for the Bruins in game one, but the Bruins errors cost them as they fell 3-2 to the Scots. Joshua Legnard also pitched a strong game for the Bruins as he finished a shutout in game two against the Scots. The Bruins finished with seven hits to win the game 4-0.

The all-time record falls in favor of the Screaming Eagles as they hold a 12-3 lead over the Bruins. Furthermore, the Bruins have lost the last five straight games to the Screaming Eagles and want to break that streak. The two programs are scheduled to play Friday's doubleheader with a start time of 1:00 p.m. from Toccoa Falls, Georgia.
