The home schedule continues as the Bruins welcome Montreat College to Greenville this week. Montreat College and Bob Jones University are scheduled to play Tuesday evening at Conestee Park with a single nine-inning game. First pitch between the two programs is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

The Bruins and Cavaliers have five previous contests with each one going in favor of the Cavaliers. Earlier this season, the two teams played at Montreat's homefield in Montreat, North Carolina. The Cavs put up four runs in the bottom of the second inning to get the scoring off the ground. The Bruins quickly responded by cutting their lead in half scoring two runs in the top of the third inning. For the next couple of innings, the two teams were competitive and held each other from scoring anything more, but then Cavs managed four additional runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 8-2 lead and eventual win with that final score.

The Cavaliers are bringing with them a 23-19-1 record after a sweep this past weekend over Union Commonwealth University. The NAIA school is part of the Appalachian Athletic Conference and the sweep over UCU brought their conference record to 13-10. Their Friday game was their most competitive game with the Cavs narrowly winning 9-7, but in their doubleheader on Saturday they won 11-0 and 13-1 while holding them to six hits between the two games.

Over the course of the weekend, the Bruins also finished up a series of in conference competition. It was a tough, but competitive series for the Bruins. A couple of late rallies for the Bruins, but they would fall short in all three games. In Friday's contest, the Bruins were down 10-4 heading into the ninth and scored four runs, but fell short of the mark losing 10-8. During the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, Joshua Legnard kept the Screaming Eagles scoreless through eight innings, but a three-run home run broke the tie in the top of the ninth and the Bruins lost 3-0 in extra innings. The second game on Saturday was another tough competition of trading scored runs, but a 10-run inning for the Screaming Eagles made it difficult to come back. The Bruins responded with six runs in their seventh inning rally, but fell short again losing 15-11. Their record heading into the week sits at 6-22.
