The Bob Jones University Bruins baseball team is set to make their way down to Jacksonville, Florida to take on Trinity Baptist College. The trip will mark their final away games of the regular season before returning home to finish the year. The Bruins and Eagles will play a three-game series with one nine-inning game Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. and will finish the series with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12:00 p.m.
The Bruins and Eagles have played each other a total of eight different times with the Eagles holding a slight advantage at 5-3. In the Bruin's previous contest with the Eagles, the two teams competed in the South Region Tournament. While there, the Bruins had a good day on the mound, but it was the errors that cost them the game in a 3-1 defeat.
The Eagles are 17-21 this season with a 7-2 conference record. During their last series, they traveled to Thomasville, Georgia for a doubleheader against Thomas University. The Eagles proved they could be competitive holding Thomas University to nine runs between the two games, but lost game one 5-1 and game two 4-3 after eight innings.
The Bruins go into the weekend with a 6-23 record after falling to Montreat College in seven innings on Tuesday night. The Cavaliers came in with hot bats that the Bruin's pitching staff couldn't cool down and Montreat would get the win 11-1 after a 10-run rule was put in place.
The Bruins are headed to Florida on Friday morning and will play game one of the three-game series at Oakleaf High School in Orange Park, Florida. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The Bruins will pick up the rest of the series on Saturday at Trinity Baptist College's home field in Jacksonville, Florida. The two teams are set to begin play on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. You can watch the game live
