The Bob Jones University baseball team wrapped up their time at the NCCAA South Region Tournament Friday night after splitting the day down in Georgia. After weather in Columbia, South Carolina postponed their game on Thursday, the Bruins were back on the field down in Toccoa Falls, Georgia on Friday on the hunt for their first ever region championship.

The team began the day with a contest against #7 Trinity Baptist College, their fourth meeting of the season.

Conley Burk opened the scoring for the Bruins with a two RBI double in the top of the third inning. BJU recorded two more runs in the third to take the 4-0 lead.

The Bruins kept the Eagles off the scoreboard until the bottom of the sixth as Trinity Baptist cut the lead in half with a two run homerun.

To close out their time at the plate, the Bruins had a big seventh inning scoring four more runs to survive elimination with the 8-2 victory.

With just a thirty minute break, the Bruins were back in action against #4 Toccoa Falls College. Today marked the seventh meeting this season between the Bruins and Screaming Eagles with Toccoa Falls holding the 5-2 series entering today's game.

In the top of the second inning, Pablo Austin hit one straight up the third base line to land on second base. Up next, Kam Lance singled scoring Austin who raced from second base to come home and put the Bruins on the scoreboard first. Zay Brandt doubled to right field scoring Cody Kirkpatrick and Sam Gonzalez to see the Bruins take the 3-0 lead.

With runners on the corners in the top of the fourth, a wild pitch allowed Kyle Prouse to race home to see BJU record their fourth run.

Toccoa Falls rallied back late in the game to record seven runs and finish the game ahead 7-4.

With the loss, the Bruins were eliminated from the NCCAA South Region Tournament. Despite their time in the postseason coming to an end, the Bruins finished the year with their best record in program history recording 13 wins.
