Bruins Race Tough Queen City Invite

The Bruins continued their season today as they raced in the Queen City Invite in Charlotte, North Carolina.

""We set an aggressive mindset today for the race," Head Coach Ken Roach said. "Normally this time of season we are more patient. We had a good first portion of race but we still have work to do with our finishes."

The women's 5k started first at 5:15. The Bruins finished 9th out of 12 teams among mostly NCAA opponents with 267 points. Joy Hast was the first one through line for the Bruins finishing 47th overall with a time of 20:30 with Joanna Lain behind her at 21:21. Kristen Dodds ran a personal record finishing 72nd overall with a time of 22:18. Lauren Jones and Naomi Mendoza rounded off the Bruins top five with times of 22:29 and 23:05.

The men's 8k race started right after at 5:45. The men's team finished 11th place out of 12 teams with 294 points. Evan Seaman led the pack for the Bruins finishing 70th overall with a time of 27:58. Joel Batres-Mena finished next with a time of 28:42. Marc Johnson and Trenton Goldsmith came next for the Bruins with times of 28:58 and 28:59. To round out the Bruins top five is freshman James Baer finishing at 29:27.
