Baseball is back, and the 2025 season gets underway this weekend for the Bob Jones University team. Due to rain in the forecast, Friday's contest will be played at 11 a.m. followed by a Saturday afternoon doubleheader.
This weekend is the season opener for both the Bruins and Trailblazers. Friday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two NCCAA programs.
While there are many familiar faces on the team this season, the Bruins are bringing in 15 brand new players to the team consisting of eight freshman and seven transfers. Joining this new class of players are four returning players that were away from the program for at least a year.
When looking ahead to the season, Head Coach Kyle Morrison said, "this year has certainly been one that none of us would've predicted, but we have been given the opportunity to learn for ourselves that God's grace is truly sufficient. The guys are eager and grateful to be able to play ball this spring and to hopefully lay a foundation to build off of for years to come."
All home baseball games are free for fans to attend. On Saturday, BJU Student Life will be on site serving concessions for fans there for the doubleheader.
First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
