Seniors Hannah Goodwin and Anne Lloyd have earned national recognition as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named them First Team All-Americans.
Also named Region Player of the Year and a spot on the All-Region team, sport management major Hannah Goodwin has had a solid senior season. This year she has contributed 400 kills through 32 games played and leads both the Bruins and NCCAA DII in kills. This is the second time Goodwin has earned All-American honors but is her first time on the the First Team.
Joining teammate Hannah Goodwin as a First Team All-American is interdisciplinary studies major Anne Lloyd. This year, Lloyd has recorded 559 digs through 32 matches played to surpass 1,000 career digs. She tallied a career high of 32 digs on October 18 against Truett McConnell. This is the first time in her collegiate career that senior Anne Lloyd has been named an All-American.
"I am so proud of both Hannah and Anne. They both have been incredible leaders and are respected by their teammates," said Assistant Coach Victoria Dunwoody. "I am thankful we have them on our team. This award truly shows their leadership on and off the court and their hard work and dedication to this program."
"We thank the NCCAA selection committee for these individual honors," Coach Christa Schlichting said. "To have Hannah and Anne selected as All-Americans this season is a great accomplishment. Both ladies have made solid contributions to our team this season. Volleyball is a team sport, and we always say when one player is honored, our entire team is honored. This is the case with these national awards. We are thankful these players received this All-American recognition."
Goodwin, Lloyd, and the rest of the women's volleyball team are in Joplin, Missouri looking to earn their seventh national championship title. NCCAA National Championship competition kicks off on Thursday as the #4 Bruins take on #5 Faith Baptist Bible College at 10:30 a.m.
BJU is NCCAA DII member featuring 13 varsity programs and over 200 student-athletes.
