Thirteen Brand New Players Come In for Bruins Baseball


This season is the dawn of a new era of Bruins baseball, and a big factor of that is the recruit class of thirteen new players brought in this season.

While several players have returned from past Bruins teams like Bryson French. Gabriel Swarms, and Reid Giggleman, these 13 brand new recruits have yet to be introduced. 
  • #1 Mannix Crawford comes to Bob Jones University from Leland, North Carolina and is studying Sport Administration.
  • #4 David Medina is one of several transfers coming to play baseball for the Bruins from Oakwood, Georgia and is studying Ministry and Leadership.
  • #5 Mac Carroll is a gifted pitcher and outfielder from Aikan, South Carolina studying Business Administration.
  • #7 Gabe Gearhart is a hometown resident from Taylors, South Carolina studying Public Accounting.
  • Twin brother #28 Sam Gearhart also joins Bruin nation as a freshman and is studying  Actuarial Science.
  • #12 Max Lucien comes from Ocoee, Florida to play baseball and study Information Technology.
  • #14 Cayden Kennedy transferred to Bob Jones University and is originally from Myrtle Beach, SC. He is studying Business Administration.
  • A local talent from Greenville, South Carolina, #16 Malachi Major joins the Bruins and is studying Kinesiology.
  • #20 Kurtis Wess worked his way to walk on to the Bruins roster as a pitcher. He is from Reno, Nevada and studies Business Administration.
  • #21 Jacob Highsmith is another local player from Greenville, South Carolina and is joining Malachi Major in the classroom studying Kinesiology.
  • #24 Elijah Medrano is the third Kinesiology major coming to Bob Jones University and is from Gilbert, Arizona.
  • #34 Davonte Brown is a transfer student from New Providence in the Bahamas and is studying Criminal Justice.
  • #42 Evan Johnson is from Wilkesboro, North Carolina and joins Bruin nation as another transfer getting his degree in Business. 

These players and the rest of the team have started the season well winning a game in each of their first two series. They look to keep growing as a team and potentially become the most successful team in program history.
