The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named Bob Jones University Business Administration major Mac Carroll the DII Offensive Player of the Week for baseball.
This past week, Mac Carroll did a little bit of everything at the plate for the Bruins. The freshman out of Aiken, South Carolina hit two doubles, two triples, and tallied 10 RBI on the week. Carroll ended the week with three consecutive three RBI games to lead Bob Jones offensively. Carroll also recorded the extra-inning hit that would help Bob Jones defeat Alice Lloyd College on Friday's win as the team now sits at 6-15 on the year.Â
"Mac had a tremendous weekend for us and played a key role in the series win over Alice Lloyd College," said Head Coach Kyle Morrison. "He gave us some timely hitting with runners in scoring position and seemed to make solid contact every single at bat. Every time he came to the plate it looked like he was ready to do damage. Lord willing, this is a glimpse of what he can do for us the rest of the year."
This is the second Student-Athlete of the Week award for the Bruins baseball team this season.
The Student-Athlete of the Week award is chosen by the NCCAA and recognizes the play of student-athletes in their respective sport. BJU is NCCAA DII member featuring 13 varsity programs and nearly 200 student-athletes.
