Bruins Compete in Another High Level DI Meet

Over the weekend, the Bruins track and field team competed in the Jim Green Invitational at the University of Kentucky against many high-level athletes.

Misha Gray began the meet for the Bruins on Friday competing in the 400 meter hurdles and finished with a time very close to his personal best that it put him in 10th place. To end the short first day, Will Stark and Leo Mota got on the track in the men's 200 meter dash, and they both set personal best times.
  • Men's 400 Meter Hurdles: Misha Gray - 55.29 seconds
  • Men's 200 Meter Dash: Will Stark - 21.83 seconds | Leo Mota - 22.85 seconds

Saturday started off with a bang as Lauren Jones took the track in the women's 5k. She set a 20-second personal best putting her as the fourth in program history to reach the sub-20 minute mark. Her effort puts her in second all-time. Judah Nash followed Jones' historic race with a historic one of his own in the men's 5k. He set a massive personal best that put him as the fourth in men's program history to reach the sub-16 minute 5k mark.

Next on the track for the Bruins was Misha Gray again competing in the men's 100 meter dash. Will Stark and Jeremiah Medrano followed him in the men's 400 meter dash. All three competed at a high level delivering good results.
  • Men's 100 Meter Dash: Misha Gray - 11.21 seconds
  • Men's 400 Meter Dash: Will Stark - 48.61 seconds | Jeremiah Medrano - 52.51 seconds
The last events for the Bruins in the Jim Green Invitational was the women's and men's 800 meter race. Four women lined up for the Bruins; Emily Walton led the way with Kristen Dodds, Kate Amato, and Liz Farley all behind. Joel Batres-Mena followed them putting up another good time in the men's race.

This meet served as a great tune up for the NCCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships coming this upcoming week in Asbury, Kentucky.
