Volleyball Team Adds Three Recruits to Their Team


The Bob Jones University women's volleyball team has added three recruits to their 2026 roster. 

"We are so excited for this group of freshmen." said Coach Anthony Bennett. "They bring energy and excitement to the gym that has already made our team better and will continue to do so throughout their time here at BJU." 

Paige Altizer
  • Hometown: Franklin County, VA
  • Major: Health Sciences
  • Awards: She was a two-time First Team All-District and All-Region team member. She was also on the Second Team All-District. 
  • Fun Fact: She rode horses for several years and has never broken a bone. 
Blakely Brown
  • Hometown: Nevils, GA
  • Major: Health Sciences
  • Awards: She was named to the 5A All-Region First Team, was given a Leadership Award, and was named Player of the Week.
  • Fun Fact: In addition to volleyball, she played basketball, soccer, and ran track. 
Sophia Mukenschnabl
  • Hometown: Darien, IL
  • Major: Elementary Education
  • Awards: She earned All-Tournament honors at Maranatha and state.
  • Fun Fact: Her older sister Lauren played on the Bruins volleyball team too.
Bennett continued saying, "these three athletes have bought into our team culture and are working so hard to improve every day and do whatever is needed to help the team succeed. Their coachability, combined with their eagerness to make an impact on this roster, is something you don't often see in athletes who are brand-new to college. This group is already breaking norms, and we are looking forward to seeing their lasting impact on this program!"

The women's volleyball team wraps up their preseason with a scrimmage against Brevard College in the Davis Field House on Thursday before traveling to Georgia for a tri-match to start the regular season on Saturday. The full schedule can be found here.
